about

Things come creeping towards you with the understated yet heavyweight techy vibes from the opening track, Journey Man. This one is an earworm and sets things up for the rest of the release and takes you on into Surgery, where Nurve continues the vibe but things kick up a notch. A punchy kick and a serious rolling bass is waiting here for you. Proper dancefloor business. Following this, Nurve moves the goalposts a little and brings the lyrical skills of Nico Lindsay into play on the moody, Current State of Mind.
Latin Lover, might be a little bit unexpected for some but gets you hooked. Nurve has sourced some great vocal samples and got them involved on rolling beat that has a groove floating around that gets right under your skin. Things get a bit heaver with Shhh! A dark and heavy minimal track that features Monika Emat on vocals which leads Nurve back into techy territory with Lurker. A track that just rolls out the sub bass. Distant synths and precise percussion gives this one some serious back up as its main synth develops.
X=X comes joins Nurve on Plugged In. A meaty pulsing sub pulls thing back and forth while things get very interesting as the track progresses. This one has swing for days and will gain fans on any dancefloor. With the dancefloor in mind, Sparko is built to do some serious damage. Occult joins Nurve on this one and it is a great combination of minds. You’ll hear this one more that you expect over than the coming months. Things switch back a little on Expo Riddim. A hooky minimal sub runs under some intricate percussion and subtle synth work as it layers itself. Nurve rolls out bit of a weapon with Repeat Prescription. A huge bass pushes against a super technical work out on the percussion and synths. A battle where everyone wins. Immense sound right here that leads into the closing track, Trailer Trash. Nurve continues the super technical trend with some technical percussion combined with the minimal synth work that sits just right as pulls it all in together to work with those big distorted bass drums.
At home, in the car or down the club, Nurve has put something together here that works. Hugely interesting tracks that will keep ears drawn in from start to finish. Make sure you turn this up where ever you are.
